Thank you for your interest in the Stanislaus National Forest Social and Ecological Resilience Across the Landscape (SERAL) project.

The initial designated scoping comment period has ended. (Ended on Aug. 17, 2020).

The SERAL proposed action was developed in cooperation with Yosemite Stanislaus Solutions (YSS) collaborative group with a commitment to getting vegetation treatments done that benefit the environment the economy and the community. The proposal includes the use of prescribed fire hand thinning of conifers mastication mechanical forest thinning treatments non-native invasive weed control and limited salvage operations to achieve the project’s objectives to reduce wildfire risk and to improve forest health.

Although the scoping comment period has ended, the Forest Service values public participation so we welcome comments at any time.  The preferred means of submitting comments currently is via email to kathryn.wilkinson@usda.gov with the Subject "SERAL Comments".  

The next designated public comment period is anticipated in early 2021.  

Communications from the public regarding this project including commenter’s names and contact information will become part of the public record.
