Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison Forest Plan Revision #51806

Commenting on This Project

The Forest Service values public participation. Communications from the public regarding this project, including commenter’s names and contact information, will become part of the public record.

On June 17, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forest officials, in partnership with area counties’ officials, announced opportunities for citizens to preview the working draft of the forest’s land management plan, engage in the revision process, and provide feedback by July 29, 2019. The preview is a preliminary step before the release of the draft land management plan and associated environmental documents.

The planning team will use the feedback to inform the draft land management plan and help prepare the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, which will include a range of reasonable alternatives. Individuals who provide feedback during this preview will not have standing to object to the draft decision before it is final, unless comments are submitted during the formal comment period. The formal 90-day comment period will begin with the publication of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, which will be held later in the process.

Feedback on the working draft will be most helpful if received by July 29, and can be submitted via:

  • This online comment tool
  • Email to gmugforestplan@fs.fed.us
  • Fax to 970-874-6698
  • Post to 2250 South Main Street, Delta, CO 81416

The working draft, information on webinars and open houses, past publications, and other helpful resources can be found on the GMUG's planning website: fs.usda.gov/goto/gmug/forestplan .

Your comments are requested by 7/29/2019.
